This comet was at 17 magnitude - fainter than what any amateur telescope could see.  Overnight, it flared-up in brightness over one million times to about mag 2.7 - it is very easy to see in the constellation of Perseus near the star Mirfak in the center of Perseus.  This star is mag 1.8, so the comet is only slightly fainter.  There is no tail visible, only a very bright coma.  This is a very unusual sight & comet - well worth going out to see.  In binoculars (7x50) - it looks like a fuzzy star.
